chronic disease management

Research has proven that exercise, at the correct intensity and duration, not only improves quality of life – it decreases the incidence of disease, chronic health conditions and obesity [1].

Working as part of a multi-disciplinary team, Balance Exercise Physiology can provide exercise and behaviour change support for clients with conditions such as:

Cardiovascular disease
Diabetes
Obesity
Osteoporosis
Depression
Cancer
Arthritis
Musculo-skeletal conditions

Following an initial assessment, a personalised exercise program will be prescribed.  Together with health education, advice and support, Balance Exercise Physiology aims to assist in preventing and managing chronic disease or injury to enhance client’s health and wellbeing and promote healthy living.

Clients who are referred by their GP under the Medicare Benefits Scheme (MBS) can access a Medicare Rebate for Exercise Physiology Services.

Veterans and those with Private Health Insurance may also be eligible for rebates (click here for a list of Health Funds offering rebates for Exercise Physiology services)
